I was taught as a market captialist is that the strong will survive and the weak will die. With that in mind I am opposing any "bailout" of any kind for the mess that we find ourselves in right now. I urge everyone to call their US House Rep and both their US Senators to express your outrage.

"I shamelessly took this directly from another site called No Wall Street Bailout. In case y’all haven’t guessed. I am AGAINST bailing out billionaires, oligarchs and rich foreign investors. Read Ten Reasons you should oppose this foolishness! I already called my two senators and House member. I am calling again in the morning.
Ten Reasons to Oppose the Wall Street Bailout
1. It costs $700 billion dollars, which is as much money as the combined annual budgets of the Departments of Defense, Education and Health and Human Services. It amounts to $2,300 for every man, woman, and child in America.
2. This $700 billion will all be borrowed money. The plan raises the national debt ceiling to $11.3 trillion. That is $11,300,000,000,000.
3. It gives Sec. Henry Paulson, formerly the head of Goldman Sachs, the power to buy assets from his former firm with no court or administrative oversight.
4. Goldman Sachs, like many Wall Street firms, gave its CEO a $67.9 million bonus last year. That is more than 1,400 times what the median American earns. Yet the plan has no provision to cap salaries or reduce bonuses at Wall Street banks that take taxpayer money.
5.The bailout has a “reverse dutch auction” format that allows Wall Street firms to set the price taxpayers will pay.
6.The 5 companies managing the bailout auction are also Wall Street firms, and will likely receive billions of tax dollars in fees.
7. The plan buys “troubled assets” from foreign banks.
8. The plan hurts responsible U.S. banks by keeping reckless, insolvent investment banks in business.
9. The idea that taxpayers will make money is a fraud. If a profit was possible, private speculators would readily buy these “troubled assets.” Instead, the bailout lets Wall Street push its losses on the taxpayer.
10. The plan violates basic principles of American capitalism by creating a system of “private profits, socialized losses.” No Wall Street Bailout"
It has been reported that Detroit Lions President and General Manager Matt Millen has been let go by the team. While Matt has done some good things behind the scenes in the organization, the bottom line is wins and losses and it has been abysmal. I don't trust the "Fords" to make the new GM hire. Bring in some proven football minds, clear house because the problem is not just with Millen, a house cleaning is in order and needs to happen like now. I will not go into all of the drafr bust this team has had in the last eight years, other sites will revel in this, I will not.

Offical Statement from the Detroit Lions
Allen Park, Mich.—Detroit Lions Owner and Chairman William Clay Ford announced today that Matt Millen has been relieved of his duties as President and CEO effective immediately.
Executive Vice President and COO Tom Lewand will now report directly to Mr. Ford on all business, organizational and NFL matters.
Martin Mayhew will assume the role of General Manager and report directly to Mr. Ford on all football matters. Additionally, Cedric Saunders has been named the Vice President of Football Operations.
“I have relieved Matt Millen of his duties effective immediately,” said Lions Owner and Chairman William Clay Ford. “I believe that this decision is in the best interest of this organization. I appreciate Matt’s efforts. Matt worked tirelessly during his tenure to win, and he would be the first one to tell you that you have to win in this league. It just didn’t work out.
“The support of our fans continues to be incredible and they deserve a winner. Every decision we make must focus on that goal, and I believe this decision today will allow this team to move forward in a positive manner.
“I am very disappointed with where we are as a team after our start this season. Our sole focus now is preparing for our next game against Chicago. The entire organization must work together and do whatever we can to make this a successful season. Despite our record, it is still early and there is time to turn this season around.
“These decisions are for the duration of the 2008 season. Once the season is over, we will undergo a thorough and comprehensive evaluation of our entire football operation and put together a plan that we believe will transform this team into a winner.”
